Key Areas of Responsibilities
On-the-ground Coordination
- Act as the primary Hong Kong-based liaison between the local TechOps team, clients, internal staff, and global Sales, Research, and Asset Management development teams.
- Coordinate operational activities, ensuring alignment of technology deliverables with business priorities in all three domains
Operational Standards & Culture
- Ensure all Research and Asset Management IT teams maintain TechOps standards and procedures.
- Foster a DevOps mindset and culture across the Sales, Research, and Asset Management technology functions for greater automation, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
Container Runtime & Development Pipeline Automation
- Work with developers to properly onboard applications into the production environment — including research publication tools, sales enablement platforms, and asset management investment systems.
- Coordinate deployment processes for containerized environments within Research and Asset Management IT (manage container image repositories, version control, and CI/CD pipelines).
- Influence and coach developers to improve logging, application performance metrics, and error diagnostics to strengthen operational reliability in client-facing systems and investment platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master degree, preferrably in IT/Computer Engineering
- 5-8 years of experience in application support role
- Database skills: Postgres, Oracle.
- Strong Unix scripting for automation and operational support.
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker), Amazon EKS or other Kubernetes orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of RabbitMQ messaging systems.
- Conceptual knowledge of deploying applications to cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to work across Sales, Research, and Portfolio Management teams.
- OS knowledge: Windows 10/7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience with Kettle Pentaho for ETL and reporting.
- Familiarity with Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana stack (good to have).
- Good command of written and spoken English, Chinese proficiency will be advantage
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and HK public holidays as required (with compensation)
