A well-established single family office based in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its growing in-house legal function. This is a rare opportunity to work in a sophisticated private wealth environment with direct exposure to principals and investment teams.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and negotiating fund subscription documents across a diverse portfolio (hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, private credit)
- Providing legal coverage across the family office's investment activities and operational matters
- Handling side letters, NDAs, ISDAs, and related investment documentation
- Supporting legal and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Working closely with investment, compliance, and operations teams
- Liaising with external counsel where required
What We're Looking For
- 4–6 years PQE, with strong foundational training from a reputable law firm (Magic Circle, US firm, or top regional firm preferred)
- 1–2 years of subsequent in-house experience at a family office, asset manager, hedge fund, or private investment firm
- Demonstrable experience reviewing fund subscription documents is essential
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required (both written and spoken)
- Hong Kong qualified preferred; other common law jurisdictions considered
- Strong commercial judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously in a lean team
