Role Purpose Based in the Hong Kong office, the Vice President (Relationship Manager) will join the Greater China Coverage section within the Corporate Banking Department. You will be responsible for managing and enhancing business relationships with high-profile Chinese State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and large-cap private enterprises. As a key member of the coverage team, you will drive global account strategies and lead the execution of complex financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities 1. Relationship Management & Business Development
- Serve as the primary Relationship Manager for a portfolio of core and target Chinese corporate clients.
- Spearhead the exploration of new business opportunities and establish long-term relationships with prospective large-cap Chinese clients on a global basis.
- Maintain frequent contact with existing customers to deepen wallet share and solicit new business.
2. Strategic Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with Relationship Managers across our global network to deliver comprehensive, multi-regional financial solutions.
- Develop and implement practical action plans to ensure the successful closing of deals and projects within strict deadlines.
- Collaborate with international colleagues to align and execute the Greater China account strategy.
3. Product & Transaction Management
- Initiate and progress both credit and non-credit banking transactions, with a particular focus on Trade Finance solutions (Letters of Credit, guarantees, supply chain financing), Loan Syndication, and FX.
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation of deals while ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
4. Leadership & Compliance
- Act as a role model within the team, providing clear direction and mentoring junior staff on the organization's mission and values.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity and business conduct in all reporting and deal promotions.
Requirements & Qualifications - Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Approximately 6–8 years of experience in Corporate Banking, specifically covering Chinese Corporate clients (SOEs and Large-caps).
- Background: A proven track record within an international banking environment is highly preferred.
- Product Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in Trade Finance (priority), Loan Syndication, and FX.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English, Mandarin, and Cantonese .
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel within the region as required by business needs.
