Our client, a leading financial institution with global offices, are actively seeking a APAC Technology Procurement Lead to join their expanding team. You will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for technology products and services across the region and will partner with technology, security, risk, and business stakeholders to drive sourcing strategy, vendor performance, commercial outcomes, and compliant contracting. The role is responsible for ensuring procurement processes are efficient, auditable, and aligned to global policies, while optimizing cost, control, and time-to-value.
The role:
- Own regional procurement strategy for technology categories (e.g., software licensing, cloud services, data/analytics platforms, cybersecurity, infrastructure, IT services, professional services).
- Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle: demand intake, requirements shaping, RFx/auctions, evaluation, negotiation, award, contract execution, and supplier onboarding.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing and governance for APAC stakeholders, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, vendor risk, and enterprise architecture needs.
- Drive vendor contracting standards, negotiation playbooks, and commercial terms (pricing, SLAs/OLAs, warranties, audit rights, data/privacy terms, termination clauses).
- Partner with Finance and Business Owners to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost optimization initiatives (e.g., consolidation, renegotiations, license optimization).
- Establish and track procurement KPIs and supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness, cost, and compliance).
- Ensure procurement activities meet internal controls, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements.
- Act as a key contact for global procurement teams to implement frameworks, processes, and sourcing strategies across APAC.
- Support due diligence and vendor risk assessments in coordination with Security, Risk, and Legal stakeholders.
- Develop and mentor procurement team members and/or manage procurement analysts and sourcing specialists (where applicable).
The role:
- 8+ years of experience in technology procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, ideally within financial services, enterprise technology, or consulting.
- Demonstrated experience running complex, multi-stakeholder technology sourcing events and contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of technology commercial models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, licensing/subscription, usage-based pricing, professional services).
- Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management, and contracting principles (SLAs, data protection, audit rights, indemnities).
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies and evaluation criteria.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems (e.g., Ariba/Coupa or similar) and advanced use of Excel/BI for spend analysis.
- Familiarity with APAC supplier markets and regional contracting considerations.
