Job Summary: Reporting to the Head of Cyber & IT Liability, PFR, Asia Pacific, the Senior Underwriter independently contributes to the growth and profitability of the Cyber and/or Technology Errors & Omissions Risks insurance product line through marketing, underwriting and managing of products and services of complex risks. Risks may require special handling or unusual coverage. Has distinct accountability for business results for Cyber and/or Technology E&O specialty product line(s). Requires extensive level of knowledge of assigned product lines, exceptional strategic and marketing capabilities as well as technical knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques. May serve as a product line expert or provide product-line expertise to department. Responsible for budget, marketing, risk assessment, and broker management for group.
Job Responsibilities: - Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients to facilitate the marketing and sale and training of the Liberty brand and products.
- Reviewing, rating and underwriting target new business and renewal business in line with Liberty's quality selection and adequate pricing guidelines.
- Executing sales & negotiation strategies to ensure profitability & growth of Cyber and Technology Errors & Omissions specialty product line(s).
- Ensuring brokers/clients receive a high level of service that differentiates Liberty from its competitors.
- Communicating with other product line Underwriters in order to leverage cross-selling opportunities and deliver a complete service to the broker and client.
- Collaborating with the Head of Cyber and other Cyber underwriters to develop and set up the Cyber business for Asia
- Contributing to an effective team environment by interacting professionally with all team members and providing development, support and assistance as required.
- Taking responsibility for mentoring, training and development of other less experienced employees in relevant product line(s).
- Providing strategic input into product development and marketing plans including market research, competitor analysis, product design and geographic/segment focus.
- Reviewing and negotiating policy terms and conditions, assisting with policy wordings and endorsements.
- Participating in the execution of marketing plans.
- Representing Liberty at industry social events, conferences and other relevant market related presentations.
- Compile and present training to brokers and industry stakeholders on relevant topics as required.
- Strengthening the Liberty Brand and own profile within the market development more strategic relationships.
- Working closely with claims department, risk management and all other key internal stakeholders to promote Liberty's \"integrated business unit approach\" and ensure seamless delivery of underwriting services.
- Liaise with Business Operations and Compliance regarding streamlining administrative processes and creating efficiencies.
- Coordination of and administering workflow via Processing Services Team (PST).
- Articulating Liberty's value proposition and testing rating elasticity during the underwriting process.
- Providing input into the financial and strategic planning process relative to the product line.
- Acting as a referral point to other relevant employees within the department.
- Providing technical training and guidance to underwriters/assistant underwriters & underwriting assistants.
- Demonstrating behavior at all times in line with the Liberty core values.
- Updating and maintaining various logs and preparing reports as required.
- Participating in audits as required.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, statutory and corporate affairs requirements on a timely basis.
- Ensuring premium payments are received and discrepancies investigated in a timely manner by referring to Debtors report from Finance department;
- Taking responsibility and showing initiative in the development of your technical and soft skills.
- Continuing to seek improvement of the product and self by the continuous improvement of practices and processes.
- Working collaboratively with international colleagues and participating in global meetings when required
- Performing other related duties as assigned by your manager or other appropriate officer.

Job Qualifications: - Technical Underwriting Skills in Technology Errors & Omissions and/or Cyber experience
- Significant previous relevant experience in the General (non-Life) Insurance industry.
- Significant previous relevant experience in an aligned role with a broker or insurance company.
- Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars is required.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline would be desirable
