My client is one of Asia's most established commodity trading firms. With over 40 years of market dominance and a controlling interest in the regional import of essential agricultural commodities, they offer a high-stakes, commercially-driven environment. This is not a "back-office" role; you will be the financial engine behind multi-million dollar global shipments.
Job Duties: - Trade Execution & Banking: Act as the primary liaison with top-tier international banks to manage and execute the full life-cycle of Trade Finance instruments, including Letters of Credit (L/C), Standby L/Cs, and Bank Guarantees.
- Financial Guardianship: Oversee the integrity of trade documentation (Bills of Lading, Invoices, Insurance) to ensure seamless cargo clearance and prevent demurrage or financing delays.
- Full-Spectrum Accounting: Manage the month-end closing process, statutory financial reporting, and tax compliance for the Hong Kong headquarters and overseas subsidiaries.
- Liquidity Management: Monitor credit facilities and banking "headroom" to ensure the trading desk has the capital required to execute high-volume physical trades.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants; ensure all trading activities adhere to international standards (UCP 600) and local regulations.
- Strategic Partnership: Provide real-time financial insights to the trading desk regarding trade margins, FX exposure, and logistics costs.
Job Requirements:
- Professional Qualification: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience within aCommodity Trading ,Energy , orBulk Shipping environment. Candidates with a strong background in a bank's Trade Operations department will also be considered.
- Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on knowledge of Trade Finance instruments (specifically L/Cs) and international trade rules (Incoterms 2020).
- Operational Mindset: Proven ability to manage complex shipping documentation and coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet tight deadlines.
- Languages: Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is required; English is a significant advantage for coordinating with regional stakeholders.
- Travel: Comfortable with travel to Mainland China.
- Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with trade-specific accounting software is a plus.
