Job Title: IT Officer (Network & Security)

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a competent and proactive IT Officer to manage the companys IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on network stability, cybersecurity, and daily operations & maintenance (O&M). The successful candidate will ensure that our systems run efficiently, securely, and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

1. IT Network & Security

  1. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, or Palo Alto), and VPNs.
  2. Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  3. Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures (endpoint protection, intrusion detection, access controls).
  4. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and security audits.
  5. Respond to network security incidents and breaches; perform root cause analysis.

2. IT Operations & Maintenance

  1. Provide daily technical support to end-users (hardware, software, and peripheral devices).
  2. Manage servers (Windows Server / Linux), Active Directory, Office 365 / Google Workspace, and backup solutions.
  3. Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and disaster recovery testing.
  4. Maintain IT asset inventory and software licensing records.
  5. Document IT procedures, network diagrams, and maintenance logs.

3. Other Duties

  1. Liaise with external vendors and service providers for procurement and support.
  2. Assist in IT projects (e.g., system upgrades, cloud migration, network expansion).
  3. Ensure compliance with company IT policies and relevant Hong Kong regulations (e.g., PDPO).

Requirements:

  1. Education: Higher Diploma or bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in networking and security roles.
  3. Technical Skills:
  4. Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, and firewall policies.
  5. Experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) is a plus.
  6. Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
  7. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) is an advantage.
  8. Certifications (preferred but not mandatory): CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.
  9. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication (Cantonese & English), and ability to work independently under pressure.
  10. Language: Fluent in Cantonese and English; Putonghua is a plus.
