Job Description JOB PURPOSE: - Perform Know-Your-Customer (\"KYC\") and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) procedures at both the customer on-boarding and periodic review stages covering the entire process from end-to-end i.e. \"Maker\" and / or \"Checker\" roles as a support function within the First Line of Defense.
- Liaise with Relationship Manager for obtaining updated KYC documents from customer.
- Liaise with RM / Customer in the initial Customer Account Set-up Documents for non-borrowing customers. Certify completeness of documents. Follow-up on outstanding documents with RM and customers. Ensure pending documents are received. Safe keeping of on boarding documents for non-facility customer.
- Ensure KRI is within threshold by timely completion of outstanding accounts review.
- Plan for upcoming accounts which are due for review and proactively work with RMs to determine whether account is still required or to be closed.
- Ensure customers static information update (AS, address, UBO etc) are updated on timely basis.
- Liaise with Compliance on adherence to AML/KYC matters
- Prepare CDD /KYC Onboarding related regulatory reporting and submit to Compliance.
- Responsible for transactional & compliance reporting within the Bank as directed.
Regulatory review procedures, manual, SOPs to ensure these documents are up to date / reviewed and approved, through working with Compliance, Head of Department, Operational Risk team
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Ensure performance of KYC to the standards expected of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and in accordance with the bank's AML and KYC Policies and Procedures. This includes reviewing and checking for completeness of CDD information and supporting documentations for new and existing customers (periodic review) and performing risk assessments in line with the bank's AML and KYC Policies and Procedures.
- Manage KYC / CDD trigger events and reviews and ensure appropriate actions are taken in accordance with the AML and KYC Policies and Procedures.
- Perform name screening and searches on prospective customers and existing customer base using appropriate toolkit / system.
- Support the development of 1st line of defense controls and procedures.
- Maintenance of customer lists and records including archiving the documents
Manage the weekly/ monthly MIS and issue reporting.
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks and project work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: - A recognized diploma/degree in Business, Banking, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
Minimum Experience - 3 to 5 years of experience in performing KYC in banking / finance environment.
- Work experience in a small team would be an added advantage
- Familiar with internal controls, middle office functions and banking operations, particularly anti-money laundering. This includes a good understanding of AML risk, risk ratings, source of funds/wealth, related parties, PEPs etc., a general understanding of loans, deposits and trade finance products including their risk indicators and strong awareness of Regulatory Compliance guidelines and other local regulatory requirements
- Good writing and communication skills
- Self-starter, resourceful, independent, active team player and able to handle work pressures
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver consistent results.
