Role Overview: We are partnering with a leading insurance company in Hong Kong to look for a highly experienced Head of Financial & Enterprise Risk. Reporting directly to the CRO / C-suite, this strategic leadership role will oversee the organizations Financial Risk, Capital Management, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a robust actuarial background and a proven track record of navigating complex regulatory landscapes in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- ERM Framework Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously enhance the Enterprise Risk Management framework in alignment with the companys strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Risk & ALM: Oversee financial risk exposures, including market, credit, and liquidity risks. Drive Asset Liability Management (ALM) strategies to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Capital Management: Lead risk and capital assessments, ensuring strict compliance with Hong Kong Risk-Based Capital (HKRBC) requirements and Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) reporting.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the Insurance Authority (IA) and other relevant regulatory bodies regarding risk-related matters.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with the executive management team, providing actionable risk insights to support product pricing, investment decisions, and business planning.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing risk management team, fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the organization.
Key Requirements:
- Actuarial Qualification: Qualified Actuary (FSA or equivalent) is strictly required.
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience in risk management, actuarial, or capital management within the life or general insurance sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of HKRBC, ORSA, IFRS 17, and ALM frameworks.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Language: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly preferred.
