Your new company A top-tier securities firm is looking for a Deputy Head of Operations to oversee the end-to-end Operations function, leading a large team to deliver comprehensive support across securities and financial products. Working closely with Front Office, Compliance, and Head Office, the role ensures efficient transaction processing, settlement, asset servicing, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness for business support and new initiatives.
Your new role
Provide overall leadership and management of the Operations Department, overseeing approximately 80 headcounts across multiple functional teams.
Partner closely with Front Office and business stakeholders to deliver comprehensive operational support across IPOs, equities, fixed income, derivatives, commodities, covering transaction support, trade settlement, asset servicing, account opening (KYC/CDD), and client data maintenance.
Oversee and supervise daily operations and settlement activities for a broad range of financial products, including structured derivatives, fixed income instruments, futures, and options, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and risk control.
Fully support Front Office functions including Investment Banking, Cash Management, Fixed Income, Futures & Options, Structured Products, Private Banking, Global Equity Settlement, and Custody Services. Actively participate in the preparation, onboarding, and operational readiness of new products and business initiatives.
Drive operational efficiency, system enhancement projects and scalability to support rapid market changes, ensuring smooth, resilient, and well-controlled operations processes.
Prepare management analysis, reports, and presentations for senior management and Head Office, and execute tasks and initiatives assigned by Group or regional leadership.
Contribute to the formulation and execution of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic plans, including restructuring and strengthening the operating model to support the firm's future growth.
Work closely with Compliance and Risk functions to monitor regulated activities, ensuring full adherence to internal policies and all applicable external regulatory requirements.
Undertake additional responsibilities and ad-hoc initiatives as directed by senior management from time to time.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in securities, investment operations and settlement
Over 5 years of managerial experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Familiar with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Excellent command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), both written and spoken.
