My client, a leading insurance company, is seeking a Project Lead with expertise in underwriting and new business transformation initiatives.
This role focusses on improving underwriting processes through better governance, technology, data, and AI, while working closely with business and operational teams to deliver practical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and maintain underwriting and new business standards, processes, and guidelines
- Ensure underwriting practices are followed consistently and support improvements where needed
- Drive underwriting transformation initiatives such as automation, digital issuance, and AI-enabled underwriting
- Identify and support new tools, technologies, and solutions that improve underwriting efficiency and quality
- Promote responsible and controlled use of advanced AI in underwriting
- Work closely with stakeholders to align underwriting processes with business objectives
- Provide underwriting expertise and support for complex or high-risk cases when required
- Lead or support projects to ensure delivery on time and aligned with agreed standards
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Share best practices and help improve underwriting capability and performance
- Communicate effectively and influence senior stakeholders when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- Strong underwriting experience, preferably in a leadership or regional role
- Experience in underwriting or new business transformation initiatives
- Exposure to automation, data analytics, or AI in underwriting is an advantage
- Solid project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is a must.
