Application Support Engineer

Our client, a global Quantitative Trading firm, is looking for an Application Support Engineer to join our Front Office Trade Support team in Hong Kong. Primarily you will support, monitor and deploy various proprietary systems related to the company's electronic trading throughout the Asia Pacific region.

What We Are Looking For

  • Preferably a degree-qualified professional with a major in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the financial industry, particularly across trading, market data, OMS, FIX protocol, and related systems.
  • Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and market data across equities and derivatives is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage shifting priorities within a trading floor environment.
  • High attention to detail, with a proactive mindset toward identifying and driving operational and technical improvements.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience supporting a trading floor environment and working closely with traders.
  • Experience working with market data systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Scripting experience in Bash and Python. Additional experience with PowerShell, VBA, C#, or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of messaging middleware.
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous problem-solving and process improvement.
