bambino playgroup and woodlands groups

My child goes to Woodland and I have to say it's more than just a playgroup. He has been to other places that call themselves playgroup or preschool, but he's grown heaps since moving to Woodland. There is lots of space, and the program is organised and structured like a school. That really helps your child to progress onto the big schools. I would recommend it definitely. My other child will start Victoria in a few months time. Woodland's main language is English as well as Bambino, but Victoria is bilingual.

I would say that Woodland encourages children to be mature and independent. So, that is a big plus when the kids are going to interviews at big schools. Which school your child gets into depends on your child, and maybe his mood on the day of his interview. Victoria is very popular as it has a good reputation. Most local children that go to Victoria will go onto local schools if not Victoria Primary.

How old is your child? Where does s/he go now? It just depends if you want English vs bilingual preschool teaching. Woodland is almost double the cost of Victoria. My son goes to WIS in Wan Chai.

I think for most schools siblings are still prioritised as long as they perform OK in the interviews.

Will those graduates from Bambino have a great chance going to ESF?

My son goes to Woodlands Montessori on Caine Road and he loves it. He's been going a year and we're really happy with his development.

This school is geat for getting kids to be independent and for learning practical skills as well as academics, like how to tie shoe laces, pour own drinks, tidy up own toys etc.

The only thing we had a problem with was the toilet training - we would have liked the school to have been a bit more relaxed and understanding about that. But overall we are satisfied and hope to send his younger brother there next year.
