High-end hourly hotel review:

Check-ins at the ultra-discreet hourly hotel, The Eden at 148 Wellington Street, soared after the pre-screening of the final season of Sex and the City in Lan Kwai Fong.

“Occupancy is 60 per cent more than usual,” said the hotel’s spokesperson, who, determined to be as discreet as his hotel, would only give his name as Mr Kwan and refused to identify any guests.

According to Mr Kwan, peak time is at 2am. Often, the 25-room love nest hangs out the “no vacancy” sign.

A two-hour stay in the hotel’s cheapest rooms starts at $220; with the top-of-the-range, VIP rooms starting at $320. Couples who want to see the sun rise pay $500 if they check in before 1am and $400 after 1am. Fluffy down comforters and roses on the pillows are provided, and in case you forget to BYOC, two bedside condoms come free in all rooms.

Fantastic business model. An upscale love-motel located near LKF. Wish I'd thought of that!

Yes, pumpkin, we did live there, check their special monthly package out, they got very reasonable price and you cannot believe how quiet it is. The long term stay tenants are always being allocated on the first floor because the upper levels are for those 'temporary' or 'hourly' stay.

What's the problem of living in the Eden, chiki?

We stayed there because my ex just moved back to Hong Kong and couldn't find an apartment around Sheung Wan instantly. Whilst we found that this newly refurbished hotel (it was really new when we lived there) is very contemporary and clean.

Hypergirl, there are plenty of clean hotels with residential packages in Sheugn Wan. Are you sure there wasn't another reason he wanted to live there??

Is Eden the only love hotel around Central? There may be many in Wanchai too. Any suggestions?
