i find that pilates has the best long-term, lasting effect on the widest range of body types. you really do get your maximum best body shape from it.

or...oops!...are you pregnant? ;-)

Also a sad part of getting older. Agree with the suggestion for Pilates but any form of excercise will help. Personally I prefer running for max results.

Agree with the fitball for abs. My trainer has me holding a 5kg medicine ball while I do situps on it. It's bloody murder I tell you. My muscles ached so much they went numb, lol!

the good old-fashioned sit-ups and bicycle crunches mentioned by Vulvic and chiki usually work, because it is easy for most people to get the form right. most of us have done them at one time or another in phys-ed at school, then later in life on our own. it is entirely possible to do an exercise with the wrong form, and thereby mis-develop (for lack of a better term) the muscle! have you ever noticed that some people are very fit but their abdomens are distended/rounded, not flat - this is because they haven't been using the right form in doing their abs exercises. also, they are possibly not exercising all the other muscle groups that support a flat stomach and trim wasitline (speaking of which, chiki is right about the myth of spot reduction).

the problem with gadgets like the Ab King Pro (?) is that you don't have someone guiding you (other than the infomercial and manual i suppose) about how your entire body should be correctly positioned and how your muscles should "feel" as you are using the gadget. a good instructor can do this for you.

Did you just recently move here? I have been in HK for 6 months and its been a disaster for my weight! I am usually a really thin, but I have gained over 10lbs since arriving! I'm pretty upset and have been hitting the gym daily, eating special K cereal all the time...nothing seems to be working for me. Read some articles about being stressed and not adjusting to my new surroundings hence creating excessive cortisol, some hormone that stores fat. Maybe this is our issue...I'm pretty lost about this sudden weight gain issue too. By the way my email is ying2sweet@hotmail.com if you want to chat more

south beach diet always works for me. Carbs and sugar tend to say in the tummy, around the waist and even hips far longer.

also agree with chinese food (but only the healthy ones, like lots of steamed fish and veggies)

I think slimming treatments with machine and hand massage helps alot! I have seen my friend loosing her weight which she gained after giving birth. Now she is back to her normal size which is amazing! She is really happy about it! All you need is patience and continue the treatment. It is also said that its very good for blood circulation and good thing about this treatment is there are no side effects. You can call them ask for more details...25241272
