Found a bargain book store at the 2/F of World Wide House in Central. They have old and new titles, books in mint condition too! Prices start at HK$29. Found copies of Amy Tan's Kitchen God's Wife and Joy Luck Club, both for HK$68 only :)

You can try the small furniture shops on either side of Ma Tau Wai Road, starting a little after the Kai Tak airport road and ending a little before the begining of Hung Hom.
