Hello-
I am moving to Taipei for 6 months (and may possibly return next year for several years)with my husband and 7 year old daughter.
Can anyone recommend a good international school?
I have only heard from Grace Christian Academy and Yang Ming Shan Christian School. I am not deeply religious, but not averse to Christian schools (I'm a lapsed Catholic).
Not to create a fuss, but I am philosophically opposed to vaccines. I realize this may hinder her chances - does anyone know of any schools who will consider her w/out vaccines?
She's been to India twice for a total of 2 months and has never had any health problems.
Please no yelling and lectures on not vaccinating her. I understand the pros and cons and have done my research in this area. She was breastfed for a LONG time and is a very happy, healthy child.

Have you tried "American International School"? It's the most famous international school in Taipei. I heard it's quite good.

Thank you for your reply. Well, I e-mailed them but haven't received a response yet.
I've decided to go ahead and give her a few vaccinations after all, but only Hepatitis A, polio and DTP. Her pediatrician convinced me, and I agreed.

I went to the Morrison Academy school system myself. The campus in Taipei is called Bethany Christian school. The principal this upcoming year will be my former Morrison classmate.. great person. My experience at Morrison was excellent and the best years of my life. Would highly recommend you check out Bethany.

Thank you so much for your responses rainrain, elane and Ruth. She is currently enrolled at a school here in Taipei. I am not happy at all with her teacher...if we come back next year, she will attend Taipei American. If there is no space then I will homeschool her.

TES (Taipei European School) here is also great. You may want to consider that. If you have any problems, go to www.parentpages.net.

Yes I would love to enroll my daughter there - but it is such a long bus ride - she gets car sick really easily!
