I simpathisize with your predicament. Refer to "Rent Tribunal" and "Update, Rent Tribunal" postings. I was told by locals that you don't even pay the last 2 months on car parking rental because you won't get back your deposit. It says a lot about the general honesty or ethics in this country. I have been told NOT to pay the last two months rent because I won't receive my bond back. I also questioned the situation I would find myself in - maybe on the footpath with my belongings but I was told that they may get the balif on to you (which you apparently just ignore) and it takes up to 6 months before anything would actually be done. So if your nerves can stand it it looks like we have to play the same dishonest game that these landlords play.
