I need to move my satellite dish (big) from one satellite to another (to Asia Sat 3). Does anyone got a recommendation of a Satellite provider ?

PS: I do use only the Free To Air Channels but cannot move the dish by myself as one need a special electronic equipment to get the proper angle I think.

Thanks

Actually I mainly use it for 1 channel whom is TV5

There is one thing good is that it is Free of Charge and legal.

You can have a look at http://www.asiasat.com/eng/02_satellites/channel_03.html

Check only the free-to-air as for the other one you need to register.

It is not better than Now or Cable. For me, I have Now but TV5 is not on it and only on the cable which I cannot get in Sai Kung !

PS By the way I still need someone to move my dish !

I "tuned" my dish by doing the following.

If you are able to get to it easily, i.e. It's on your flat roof etc. Then take the TV up to it. Plug the TV into the dish with a small length of co-ax. The Sat dish instructions will have the Cordinates for it's direction. Lattitude and Longditude. Then point the dish in the general direction using a compass and tighten the bolts so it's able to move only when you put some force into it. Then elevate till you start to get a picture on the TV. Your receiver will also give you a strength readout when it's in "set-up" mode. It does help if you have someone to help, but it's not impossible to do it on your own.

Good Luck

Hi Gmbl,

I am about to rent a flat in HK Central, old Chinese Building.

As I need to TV5 to survive and my old building is not covered by Cable, I am considreing to install a satellite dish.

May I know how you got the dish ? pacific satellite asks for HKD 6,500.oo to sell and setup the whole equipment...
