I had my first leg waxing in Feburary - 22nd, to go to a resort for 10 days, and by the time I was back I had to shave my legs again!!! The waxing lasted 14 days. Is that normal. I know that you should try to let your hairs grow a bit, and I hadn't shaved my legs since before Xmas. Question: is it normal to have to shave again after 14 days, or did I somewhere that just didn't do a good job?

Thanks to both of you. So, Cara, what you're saying is that I should do it often, even if it's every 2 weeks. How long does the hair have to be? Cause it's really unsightly to have hairy legs, especially with the summer comming. Cara, where do you work? Maybe I could come and see you.

cara, wanted to ask you about waxing after shaving. I started off as a regular waxer and if you've never shaved you know how smooth the waxed areas feel. But once you shave you never get that smooth feel. It's been over a year since I last shaved and have gone back to regular waxing, will that smooth feel ever come back ?

What do you think of Veet or similar hair removal creams?
This is what I use now since I haven't found a reasonably-priced salon to go for waxing. Veet is not as harsh on the skin as shaving, but nothing beats the smoothness of skin just waxed

thanks for that. I've used Veet for years, but was hoping that if I waxed I wouldn't have to do it as often!!! We women sure have it rough eh?!!

I have just moved to Hong Kong and am living in FoTan - does anyone know a reasonable place to get waxing done in ShaTin or Tai Po areas?

I grew up shaving, but since being Asia I have switched to Asian threading (eyebrows & upper lip, arm pits once in awhile)and Waxing (legs, arms, bikini and armpits) to get everything done it cost me less that HK250.00!
Let me tell you before my hair on my legs had gotten rough and thick a common result from shaving but now the hair on my legs has thinned out and is soft ... same for elsewhere on my body too!
When I first began I had to go every 2 weeks(for legs)-lucky it was winter time! After 3 to 4 months it got less and less frequent and now I can go about 6 weeks (during winter months for legs and arms and bikini) In the summer I expose more skin so I go more frequent every 3 to 4 weeks) Now for my eyebrows and upper lip I go about every 8 to 10 days as it is so quick and nontime consuming - it takes about 10 minutes. I normally drop in on my way home from work or during lunch.

where do you get all that done for HK250.00?????? what a good price, I just paid HK400 for just legs and bikini. I don't have to do eyebrows (I don't really have any!) nor arm hair either!
