Hi, I usually give her homemade food for one meal (lunch) - this is the meal I feed her immediately upon arrival at destination. Then for dinner, I've had to settle for canned food. Sometimes you could bring along frozen food and get the restaurant to heat it. If that's not available (like when I take her to Ocean Park), I just put it in a thermal flask. Fruit's fine. I take it frozen and feed her when it's melted. My baby's fine so I don't think I poisoned her either. Hee hee.

Not sure if this would work for you. I used to make my purees and freeze them in ice cube trays. On my way out the door, I'd just take some of these ice cube purees and put them in my Advent bottles (just take out the nipple and substitute with one of those flat tops). I found that the puree would defrost and be room temperature when I needed to feed my baby. (If I was out for a long time, I'd pack along an ice pack to keep things cool and then warm up in the microwave---be careful with temperature though---don't want to burn your baby's tongue!)

I did basically what everyone here is saying, although I did pick up one of these chinese lunch thermos flasks from Wing On, the kind with 3 small plastic containers inside. It worked well. I'd keep the thermos part in the freezer so it was always good and cold when we needed it and then I'd bring along a couple of savory purees and a fruit one that I'd usually mix with baby rice. (I needed to have a bit of choice, she was much pickier than yours sounds)
The one drawback to that is that, as my daughter had really yummy food from the beginning, she outright refused anything from a jar. And she was small, so I never felt I could let her "get hungry enough to eat it". But not being able to fall back on jars made plane travel and holidays away from a kitchen more difficult.
So while I'm with you on homemade food Mrs Miggins, you may want to include a jar here and there just so you know he'll eat them in a pinch!
