Just returned from bad morning. Had to go for a meeting in unfamiliar part of Kowloon in the car. On returning I found myself in a very busy part of Prince Edward and wanted to get out of the traffic. I did a quick left and tried to find a place to pull over. I did not notice but it was a no left turn junction and I had passed through a pedestrian crossing.
A cop spotted me and has charged me with dangerous driving as I passed through the crossing.
Natrually I stuffed up and should cop it sweet but I thought that I might have just gotten a fine rather than the charge. I have not had to deal with this sort of thing before and am not really looking forward to the summons arriving.
Can anyone give me an indication of what to expect and whether I should seek representation etc?

I had a friend who was in the same situation and it's up to the policeman's discretion as to whether he just imposes a fixed fine or charges you for something more. Personally, I wouldn't bother to seek representation and I would just plead guilty, the fact remains that you did turn left at a no left turn junction. If you plead not guilty then it's up to you to find witnesses and prove that it wasn't "dangerous driving" but at the end of the day, the witness on the other side is a policeman and it's down to who the court believes.
