My baby just turned 6 months old and I still have another large tin of Enfamil A+ formula (suitable from birth to 6 months).
At the current rate of consumption (formula used as a supplement to breastmilk and solids), the tin should last at least another month. Can I continue using it or should I switch immediately to the Stage 2 formula? Stage 1 formula costs more than the later stages but I am not sure if that means there are more nutrients inside.

My baby is in a similar situation. Actually I switched her to #2 Enfapro about two weeks ago and she started to have a very bad constipation, so bad that she cried very miserably trying to poo.
The paediatrician who is a consultant at the Queen Mary Hospital actually asked me to put my daughter back to Enfamil A+ and recommended that it can be fed until age 1. Formula #2 has more protein. #1 is the most important one.
As far as #2, 3 and 4, it's a marketing thing for the company. I was told about this by more than one paediatrician.

I switched to stage 2 just after she turned 6 months and I also offer her water with her lunch and dinner meals and have not had any problems with constipation....good luck.
