Just keep with Microgynon for a bit longer to see if the nausea subsides as not everyone is suited to certain types of contraceptives. If the nausea continues, ask your doctor to recommend another brand.
I've been on Microgynon for about 15 years now and have never had any problems with it and it has never let me down (fingers crossed).

Not actually quite sure what you mean by sugar pills.
With most oral contraceptives, you should have a 7 day break after every 30 days of taking the pills. Normally you will get your periods during the 7 days with your periods being very light and only lasting for a few days. Mine usually last 2 days max. (You do not have to take any pills during the 7 day break).
However some people do not take a 7 day break and continue taking a new pack when the 30 days have been completed. This then enables you to not have your periods.

Eight day period-yikes! I'd have seen a doc about that years ago, especially since you have a lot a pain. You probably have endometriosis, so the pill will help control the bleeding and reduce the pain. Yes, an ultrasound will show if you have it. Basically, endometriosis is uterine tissue is growing outside your uterus in your abdominal area.

The Mirena is a great IUD for some. Some will continue to bleed with it. I am lucky with mine. I had mine inserted in January and have yet to have a period with it. If you don't want the hormones in Mirena, you can get Paraguard.
I went to the Wan Chai clinic and it was a breeze. Easy, fast good service and a good female OBGYN.

Try Mercilon..I wanted something with low dosages as I am mainly using it to control my periods and don't rely soley on the pill for contraception... it works well and has no side effects. You can buy it in Watsons. Also, do some serious checking on the internet about the pill the dr put you on. A friend of mine was put on Diane 35 to control her periods. This is a pill that has huge benifit for serious skill problems, but is never to be used for other reasons as is more dangerous than most pills. Just be aware that the dr may not know everything.

Hi,
I browse around the forum a lot but haven't been compelled to write anything but I have to say something now. I know this might be taken the wrong way by some of you girls here so I apologise in advance.
I canot believe that a woman can be so irresponsible to her body and herself as to go on a hormonal therapy without propper doctor supervision! In my country the pill is not an over the counter drug and you can only get it if you have the propper paper from your doctor. You should not play around like this Rocky Star. Changing pills and hormone intake is not something to be played around with.
Go see a doctor, if you are not happy with your first one change your doctor, but do not change your therapy unsupervised.

Oh yeah, and I almost forget, even though Pumpkin knows all about hormonal therapy she's still not a doc! Take her advice, I did regarding surgery even, but still didn't let her perform it. :)
Hugs to you Pumpkin!
