Is there a way to use 115v 60Hz charger with 230v 50Hz? will a transformer alone be ok or is the frequency an issue?

Run the 115 device through a step down transformer. The only issue I have ever run into, other than hassle, is that timers won't track accurately - digital clocks MAY run fast, turntables will run fast, etc. It actually depends on the device.
It should not be an issue for a simple charger.

I'm not convinced that it would be cheaper, but if a 220 charger for the brand could be found locally it would make a lot more sense - unless you have several 110/115 volt items that need step down services. I have run lots of 110/120 volt devices through stepdown transformers and only had one item fail - which the manufacturer replaced free of charge when I contacted them. I have a Bose CD/radio that has the clock run fast, but no other problems after 2 years of use.

Thanks for responses. I bought a 300w transformer at Wanchai Computer. It was $260HK Vs $1200+ for a charger provided by the manufacturer. I didn't check heat but charging was ok. It is twice the size of the charger and weighs about 6X!!! I suspect battery life etc might be not as good but I don't use the tools all that much. Just drilling some holes etc.
