Hi I am planning to highlight my hair before i head off to uni and was wondering whether the price really matters or does it just depend on how well you manage your hair(right shampoo, conditioner) in the end?

Also does anyone have any places to recommend to me? And around how much it is, thanks much appreicated

The most important aspect of highlighting is to choose a good colour technician, as a bad one (regardless of price charged) can ruin your hair. The good colourist will make an assessment of your hair before suggesting what to do as porous hair doesn't take colour as well as less-porous hair. If your hair is porous it will not take the colour well and it will not last, not matter the aftercare you do. If you have any colouring (from whole head to highlights), a shampoo/conditioner which is meant for colour treated hair should be used afterwards.

FYI, the colour is permanent but, as your hair grows, your roots will start to show and this is not usually attractive so you have to be prepared for maintenance, i.e. root touch-ups, and your student budget may not stretch to that.

If you want a great international salon at the best prices in HK go to the FUDGE concep salon in Causeway Bay. You will not get an international salon with well experiecned staff at a better price anywhere in HK. the number there is 28811664. Go for a consultaion first as it is always a good idea.
