NOT another brazilian waxing thread...lol

I have been doing `research` on this site regarding the `upkeep` of the nether regions and as I have tried all the options out there I just want to make a few comments and things to share:


-hair removal creams are fast and easy but growth becomes more coarse and results are not long-lasting.


-shaving is also quick but again one has to do it frequently to stay smooth, but nicks are hardly avoidable since there are slight bumps on everybody's skin (cutting yourself my mistake and seeing all that hair back within 5 days is defo not worth it!!)


-somebody mentioned the seiko cleancut; whoever that was really needs to be applauded. This is a really good electrical shaver and I highly recommend it to men and women alike for shaving any part of your body, but as the original poster mentioned this works on short hairs oly


-there are a lot of posts about bikini/brazilian waxing and after much research I opted for the Sense of Touch salon; since i never had my private parts waxed the only decisive factor was the pain. As I cannot stand much pain, I went with Sense of Touch because i read about the `pain-free` waxing they offer (but of course even though i have never waxed before i did expect a fair amount of pain- it is afterall ripping a bunch of hairs from a very sensitive area!! lol)


The experience was daunting at first but the staff at SoT are very experienced and they talk you through it. Myself I was very nervous and the lady really did all she could to lighten the mood and make me feel comfortable. There was a bit of pain but it was really only when the hairs are being ripped out; after that its just some tingling sensation and that thats it and it was over sooner than I had expected. (In fact i thought i would be walking home a la michael jackson, grabbing my privates and screaming down the street! lol)


- I also have read many good comments about betty from Mandarin Hotel, so I went to her for waxing other parts and she really is very good, fast and relatively painless (althought it is surprising how some parts of your leg, esp. the back of your knee can hurt much more than brazilian waxing!)


-finally someone also mentioned laser treatment. I don't know much about this, but if it is the same as the laser treatment that people get on their face (which i also tried), i would surely advise against it. the experience on my face was bad enough and i don't think anybody likes pain that much. on my face they used the laser on the neck and chin area and after the procedure it turned red, very hot and became imflammed. the only `remedy` according to this beauty salon was to put ice packs on the area, and for the face I would sit for 1 hour after the laser treatment and the ice-packs would be completely melted within 15 minutes. I cannot imagine inflicting such pain to my private parts.


Now i am enjoying the results of the brazilian and few days later it is still smooth, comepared that to the actual time the pain lasts, I think it is worth it.

Do you happen to have a recommended person?

Also, were they tedious in the waxing process? Spread eagle, end over, body contoured in weird shapes? (yes I've actually had this done before)

Last, what was the price?

It was HKD400. The lady who did mine was Niki.


I was pretty embarassed, so she kept having to pull my legs apart - but the sooner you realise that "spread wide open" is going to reduce the amount of pain you feel, the better!
