Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are Australians living the past 6 years in Hong Kong and enjoy semi-medical cover through my employer. I’ve done as much research on and off-line as possible to find information on affordable and yet realistic worldwide private medical insurance cover, that include out-patient services, prescription, hospitalization, critical illnesses such as arterial hypertension, heart attack, chronic liver disease, strokes, cancer etc. We are in our early 50’s enjoy excellent health and plan in the not too far distant future to return home. We are seeking medical cover that preferably will provide “seamless” worldwide cover also in addition to the Australian Medicare system, after our return. My questions; A) Are there any such insurance options available on the market? B) If yes, what's the approximate yearly premium cost? Any response is highly appreciated.

My husband and I just signed up for "International Health Insurance" out of Denmark. It's part of BUPA. The broker in HK is Abacare www.abacaregroup.com we researched a ton of options and this one offered the most flexible anywhere in the world coverage with medical evacuation, coverage of chronic diseases, and reasonable deductibles. We are in our 30's so it's about $6,000 USD /year/person but the older you are the more they charge.

I would talk to Kwiksure, they advertise on this site - they are excellent. I think Christian Moore above works for them, but maybe has two emails?
Do be sure to check out Allianz and IHI.
