popsicle, if you have small ones that you are trying to entertain during the week with facilities and can't get membership to the other clubs and depending on where you live there is also a club at the The Repulse Bay apartments which you can join for aroung six thousand dollars for the entire year but you can only go during the week, which may suit. Swimming and kiddy playrooms etc. try
The Repulse Bay
109 Repulse Bay Road
Hong Kong
Tel No: (852) 2812 7552
Fax No: (852) 2812 0239
Advantage being that it is also close to the beach for playing/swimming.
There is also a residents club at Parkview on Tai Tam Resevoir Road (just up from the cricket club) and it costs $35K for the year with five thousand food and beverage vouchers thrown in and you may get a deposit of five back - can't remember. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis, squash, two playrooms, climbing wall, internet, large gym, basketball room and some other stuff.... No waiting list and the only thing with it is you pay to use the tennis courst $40 an hour and to take guests for the the day but there is no minimum F&B spend like many of the clubs and you can pay quarterly I believe. Outdoor pool is only open April - October and the indoor heated pool doesn't allow kids between 12-2 and after five as this is adult swimming time. There are the regular kiddy activities offered there like dance, mandarin, karate, soccer, tennis which you would be able to attend in any case, but if you are a member you could maximise time and go for a workout or a swim with the other child or alone while they are at their activities, or god forbid go downstairs to that super Park n Shop and do the groceries. Also just a hint but when we rented cricket club membership we did have to pretend at the "interview night" that we worked for the company that we were renting it from. Some clubs are not so keen on this practice I believe. If you are new to HK there is also sporting membership available at a discounted price and no waiting time at both the Football Club and the Cricket Club so if either of you are interested in sports you may like to consider going for one of the teams - ask the clubs for details.

thank you so much for that info ness .... yep, the plan is to get a players membership through the CC. My hubby was playing rugby end of last season but due to family circumstances he missed all but two of the games so a bit cheeky to presume we could even ask to be considered, hence why we were initially considering the lrc 6 mth membership to tide us over until rugby season! As you say its just somewhere to take the kids in the summer!
Thanks - will check out repulse bay as we are Pok fu Lam so not impossible during the week, Parkview may be a bit $$$$
cheers again

I am told by friends that the Stanley and Flora Ho facilities are also very good at excellent prices like four thousand for the year....thought I would just add that for anyone doing a search on clubs in the future. http://www.hku.hk/ihp/facilities.html
