I am sure this question has been asked a thousand times before but no answers seem to exist on the web. I am currently packing up to relocate to Tokyo. I am fully aware of the voltage differences between Australia and Japan rendering kettles, toasters, microwaves etc. useless. I do however have a reputable home cinema system with a US voltage switch on it. Could someone indicate whether that US voltage switch would allow my system to work in Tokyo? Thanks

But then when you leave Japan you MUST sell the equipment bought locally, unless you go to the US. There are some costs associated with replacing sold equipment, but it is one way to keep up with the evolving technology!
