ORIGINAL POST

My beautician keeps telling me that shaving/waxing/plucking facial hairs will make it grow back thicker and coarser. But according to the other information on the website, it will not change the the growth. Pls advise....

If shaving facial hair made it grow back thicker I think men would notice this. And many women would be sporting thick, bushy eyebrows.

i agree that sahving or waxingmakes coarser hair..the best option is of course laser i guess..but next to it..is threading...i am going back to threading now.

I do think shaving leads to coarser hair growth.

Claire, if you think about it, most guys, when they start shaving, only have "peach fuzz", but over time and regular shaving, the hairs itself seem to get thicker...

I used to shave some hairs off the sides of my face but this resulted in very heavy growth later on. A lady advised me that facial hair should be threaded off, and that is what I do - there is a noticeable difference for sure.

Peach fuzz is age/hormone related. Strangely, guys get it younger and women get it older. Shaved hair seems coarser because of the 'blunt' end of the regrowing hair. But agree that threading for facial hair is one of the best alternatives.
