you usually need to get the number of one of the illegal "taxi cartels" and call them. i have never booked one in advance though. usually just give them a call and they send the taxi that's nearest. and there is a discount to. sorry don't know any numbers as i am usually with my chinese collegues

My understanding is that they have early shifts (4am-4pm) and late shifts (4pm-4am), and early doesn't take bookings for late or vice versa. So, in your case, you need to call Tues morning or very early Wed morning for your 8.15am Wed booking.
