That reminds me of what happened to me when I was your daughter's age. Maybe a year older, I cannot remember. Mum also took me to the hospital.

I had a lump in my breast, the dr examined it and said it was normal because I was "growing" breasts. He gave me an ointment to apply if it got uncomfortable.

But best to check it out for ease of mind.

No need to panic, I'd say.

Hi, I had the same thing when I was 12 or 13 and also checked out and told was simply due to growing.

All will be ok, but best to check for piece of mind.

I remember clearly getting 'lumps' in my breasts at about that age, and yes it was just my breasts starting to grow.

Oh yes, I remember that as well, my parents were away so my sister took me to see a doctor - nearly died when he told me!

And I really can't figure out why my mother didn't want to get me a bra when I began to feel like I needed one. What the ??? After that uncomfortable adolescent experience I was sure to get my daughters bras at whatever age they asked for them.

just when i thought i don't have to worry about her... so , soon i would have to buy her bras. isn't 9 a bit young to be growing breasts?

Have you noticed that she had suddenly also had a growth spurt with regard to her height (she doesn't need to be taller than others but a percentage increase from her previous height). Do a google search for signs of puberty.

I'm not sure but think it has to do with nutrition. Girls are better nourished now and so develop younger. Unfortunately I've also heard that some of the hormones fed to make food animals fatten faster also get into the meat and cause adolescence to come earlier.
