Most posters here appear to be based in HK. You're so lucky to have wide access to books. I'm across the border in Guangzhou . . .
I'm visiting HK this weekend. Where do I go to stock up on books???

you can visit Dymocks, Bookazine and Page One, all rather large chains. I could spend hours ( and way too much money) in the lovely Kelly and Walsh book shop in Pacific Place.

Thank you - I've now heard elsewhere that it'll be easy to find bookstores if i keep my eyes open. So I'm looking forward to blowing my wages on a veritable library of paperbacks.

There's also several Swindon's bookstores in HK; and here in GZ at the Book Center by Teem Plaza and the Sports Stadium, there's a place on the 4th floor that has a pretty good selection of English books. Check the Practical section for the thread about books in GZ.

Thanks for the tips Molly.
I've been to 'New Page' on the 4th floor of the Tian He Book Centre and it's got a good selection. Now that GZ is opening up a little more I guess I'm getting greedy - in the past I'd just browse - now I'm looking for specific books that I want! Hence the new frustration when I can't find them . . .
As for 'New Page', despite the large selection and their 'languages section', they don't seem to have ANY books to learn Cantonese. (Maybe I should start a new thread here . . .)

Yes, there are lots of bookstores in Hong Kong, but they are all very expensive relative to their US/UK list prices. One store I like is Cosmo along the tram tracks in Wanchai (32 Johnston Road). I think they offer a standard 10%-plus offer their English language books and they have a great magazine selection. They also apparently have a location in TST at 96 Nathan Road.
