Hoping to do a spot of shopping in town, but being labour day, as the name suggests, I supect the shops will be closed. Any ideas? Would the Soho markets be open? Thanks in advance.

HK never closes except for Chinese New Year for 2 days. May Day being a workers holiday? I don't think so - it is for public servants, schools and banks. The workers will still work.
