There is a guy in HK who sells bread makers for $400HKD - he exports them to europe - they are made in China and are brilliant. let me know if you need his details - his name is Chris and he sometimes advertises on the trading post. he also sells other appliances cheaper than you can buy in the store.
I buy the flour directly from the flour mills in Tai Po Industrial Park , - $110 for a 50lb bag - $140 for whole wheat. Works out way cheaper than buying the small packets - however - if you like stone ground flour you need to buy the little packets as this is imported.
I store the flour in a clean garbage bucket with a lid on it, and store in a more usable, convenient container in a large tupperware container in the pantry.I need to Top up the smaller container about once a week. The 50lb bag takes about 4 months to use.

Are the bread from home bread maker normally soft? I love chewy, heavier bread and am not sure if I can make bread of this kind of texture with home make bread machine.
