Stroller or other Transport for 2 under 2

I am moving to Repulse Bay this summer from New York City with a 2.2 year old and an 8 month old. Both very active boys. I am completely stroller and walking dependent now, but am uncertain how I will transport my children there -- the sidewalks seem pedestrian- and stroller-unfriendly. I would love to avoid taking a car everywhere -- especially down the street to the Repulse Bay shopping area/Woodlands pre-school which is only a five minute walk. Any suggestions? Thank you!

what stroller do you have now?

I have always thought that the Maclaren is good for sort of "bunny hopping" up and down stairs. (you just go backwards and yank up if you're going up hill.) I use it that way in Seoul and did it that way in HK...There is a Maclaren double too - which I'm not sure if it's narrow enough for all the crazy staircases in HK...I'm sure someone else will also have some ideas.

I would recommend that you get the lightest buggy possible which I think is the Maclaren buggy. I would also invest in one that has a great sun shade. As your other child walks I wouldn't invest in a double buggy I don't think you will get the use out of it. I have used a buga board before which attaches to the back of the buggy for the toddler to stand on you can purchase these at Bumps To Babes which is a great shop selling eveything you could possibly need for children. Best of Luck

Maclaren definitely isn't the lightest (the combi strollers - some of them weigh in at around 3 kg) BUT it is the sturdiest for its lightweightness and feel like you can bunny hop all over the place. I've had mine for two years, and it takes a daily beating with my daughter. Up and down stairs, uphill and downhill - and it's held up great. (not to mention we've traveled with it twice also.)

Thank you Tins Mami. Here, it's called the Bill & Ted's, and it's all the rage. I only feel badly about the little one being so close to the ground and having such a poor view. I will consider it for there though. For such short distances, it might be worth the investment. Thank you!

what I would suggest is a baby sling for the little one. That way for short walks, you can just carry the baby while your older one walks. There are lots of baby sling options in the States so you can take a look there for one that's comfortable to carry but make sure you get something with very light fabric as you'll be arriving at the most humid time of the year. Good luck and welcome to HK.

Why don't you go for the lightest mountain buggy option, I think they are quite narrow and they are a dream to push.
