hi I have a three week old baby that is sleeping through out the night, breastfeed around 10.30pm then he sleeps right through to 6.00am I know I should be pleased but I get really worried, try to wake him up every few hours but he wont feed will just fall asleep has any one else had this, just worry that something is not right.

If he's eating well and if he gains weight you shouldn't worry. And no need to wake him up !

While that sounds ideal, I would check with your midwife as 3 weeks is very early.

I had one like this. Met all her calorie needs during the daytime and slept through the night from 3 wks of age. Had another one that never slept! So, IMO, count your blessings as long as there's good weight gain and nothing that seems to cause worry! (You would not want a slow weight gain baby to go through the night without eating.) But I always did sleep close to mine so I could reach out and touch them during the night. Just made me feel better, it's a matter of personal preference. If you want to, there's nothing wrong with putting a bassinet beside your bed so you can reassure yourself during night that baby is okay.

hi neska
i am sure he is ok, as long as he is gaining weight, feeding about 7- 8 times per day and alert when he is awake then there's not much to worry about. if you are still concerned mention it to your paediatrician when he has his 6/8 week check and vaccinations.
