If you have a permanent HK ID card you don't need a visa.


The fee leaflet for fees charged by the government is available in pdf format here:

And the government doesn't give discounts, except to wealthy property developers.

Pleasure. One tip: they sometimes approach people standing in the (long!) lines at the official China visa office nearby and hand out discount coupons to entice people to use their service. So might be worth checking whether they're doing that on the day you go...
