Insurance covering pregnancy

I was told by a friend that one could buy a special pregnancy insurance package - anyone aware of who offers such packages?

I have insurance from my company but the coverage will not be enough to cover the cost of going private.

Most local insurers do them, such as Goodhealth.Beware that most (but not all) of them don't cover you for 12 months after the cover starts.

There are very FEW insurance companies that cover the FULL cost of pregnancy. Almost ALL have a 10-12 month waiting period.

Allianz has a 10 month wait period, and then covers 100% of the costs.

You can speak to Kwiksure who advertise on this site and ask them to make you a 'chart' comparing the different policy options.

Beware, while most policies cover SOME, few cover ALL. A private room delivery here can be 100,000, add on to that complications, and you can see why FULL coverage is important and well worth it.

agree with crj

go for allianz, but talk to christian or raymond at kwiksure first- they'll give you the best independant advice.

Thanks for the inputs. I am talking to a couple of them and looking at options. All policies seem to have a 10 month waiting for when reimbursement starts - not for conception but all costs.
