Is there such a thing as a charity clothes shop or collection in Hong Kong? I've tried the place mentioned on this website and it will only accept a minimum of 5 big bags unless you haul yourself out to Kowloon Bay...

Did you try the Sally Army? Can go to the collection points or family store, e.g. Wood Road in Wanchai.

Nope, didn't know they operated here, will investigate thanks v much. This always seemed so much easier in the UK!

The attitude towards used stuff is different in HK. A while after I arrived here Body Shop opened but you couldn't get bottles refilled - I was told it was to do with the local culture of new, new, new. Oxfam is only interested in designer-labelled clothes, can you imagine that back home?
Even the Sally Army's website there is no mention of secondhand items, you click on the "Recycling programme" button.
The website is at:

Crazy... you'd have thought in a place like this that's struggling for space to put the rubbish they would try and think of everything possible! Thanks for your help.

Yep, that's perfectly reasonable thanks v much.

There are also collection bins for 2nd hand clothes around. There's one in Sai Kung in the alley near Mannings.
