Spam list full, what to do now if email address is published on web?

By Accident, I have my email addresses published all over the net (nowhere to obvious), but I do get a lot of annoying Junk Mail because of it.

My questions is how can I block incoming spam if my spam list is full (Yahoo mail).

For hotmail, I notice moving certain email addresses to the block list does nothing as it just causes those companies to send the same annoying emails from slightly different addresses.

If nothing else, what can I do to remove my published emails from the net. I tried contacting the webmasters but sometimes, no response.

The problem is especially bad in Yahoo mail, because my SPAM LIST IS FULL. What do I when that happens?

You could go to the mail options of your Yahoo and Hotmail accounts and try and adjusting some of the settings, adding more filters, instead of just blocking a single email address from a spammer from the same domain (as spammers tend to use throw-away emails and will then send you new email from a new username perhaps from the same domain though), you could perhaps block a whole domain rather than just an individual email address. Though doing it that way, be sure you don't block a whole domain if you receive legitimate email from that domain.

You should also enable the "image blocking" open, as some spammers can tell if if you opened thier email simply by tracking if an image in your email was displayed upon opening it.

If you attempt to contact webmasters / spammers / removal-lists of these spammers, chances are you'll in fact receive even MORE spam, as then the spammers would know they have a "live one" and will send even more spam and your email will then be added on even more spammers lists.

With accounts like Yahoo and Hotmail, you're a bit limited to what you can do with their filters.

However, if you are very attached to your email address, and if you wanted stronger spam-filtering choices, you might consider paying for the "Yahoo Premium Mail" service which would give you stronger spam-filtering, allow mail-forwarding and allow "POP3" access, so you could use a program such as "Outlook" on your computer to connect and download Yahoo mail to your computer. Doing it this way, you would then be able to use a choice of some good spam-filtering programs, such as MailWasher: http://www.mailwasher.net/ , which works great in blocking almost all SPAM via a POP3 mail account, and has great filtering, blacklisting, etc.. type of options and is very good at recognizing most spam.

Though if you wanted to go that way, you'd need to pay I think it's around $20 USD per year for a Yahoo Premium Account (they also call it Yahoo Mail Plus.): http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/plus/plus-14.html

Also, with a Yahoo Plus account, if you didn't want to bother with a program like MailWasher (which is a great free utility for what it does) and POP3 stuff, you could instead "Forward" your mail to another email address, such as a GMail account, which seems to have fairly strong spam filtering system in place. So in that way, mail sent to your Yahoo Account would be "filtered" by Yahoo's Spam Filter, then it would be Forwarded to your GMail account, and GMail would run it through it's Spam Filtering system, and the end result you would probably end up with a lot less spam in your inbox that way as well.

Anyways, there's no one easy answer in fighting Spam, and it's a constant problem to most all internet and email users. But taking some precautions such as I suggested might to help greatly reduce the amount of spam you get to your final destination Inbox.

Good luck.
