I will be a first timer at a spa. I am trying out EQSPA at Central. What are the tipping conventions for Spas in HK? How much do you tip?

Tipping is always rendered on your satisfaction of the service. However a general safe rule is 10%. Give less or give nothing if you are disatisfied with the service or cheap like raincatcher...More if you enjoyed it. And definately do if you plan to go back.

Tips are not expected in Hong Kong right? Unlike in USA where everyone begs for tips, Hong Kong in general does not have the custom of tipping. You could end up offending the service provider. In spas in Mainland China, tips are expected if they give some "extra" services for "full satisfaction".

Mabye I am 'cheap' too but I generally do not TIP in HK, especially not in SPA's since they are already pricy in my opinion. I do tip at restaurants when service is excellent but not when its OK and they have already calculated a service charge (its not that their prices of the drinks and food are cheaper or anything)

Tipping in HK is not at all the same as in the USA where they almost yell at you if you do not tip enough (that happened to me twice now). Feel very unpleasant in the USA when dealing with this because I never know if its good enough.. On top of that all their dollar notes look the same to me. Why don't they make the one dollar note into a coin and get rid off the 1 cents....?

Sorry whole other subject
