The images are all "old" and are only the ones that are available in the public domain, so as to not compromise security I guess. As for the focus, they are only as clear as the satellite camera allows. For areas that are heavily photographed, you get better details. Some areas have no detail at all, as they are of no interest to whom ever "aims" the camers.

I love this program. I recently used it to track the typhoon chanchu. I input the coordinates and the geographic detail was much better than the ones on official tracking maps.
