water damage

Just wondering if someone knows of who to contact for water damage to walls inside a flat. Had a faulty aircon which caused the wall to bubble out and discolour, as water was being absorbed directly into the wall. Once popped, the bubbles would ooze water and the surrounding area would peel off. The aircon has since been replaced and a dehumidifier placed directly underneath the damaged section. However, I'm wondering if it's necessary to have it proffesionaly looked after for fear of mold, as it's in the bedroom directly above the bed! How long should I wait for it to dry before I contact someone? I'm a bit worried that the wall may have suffered some structural damage but more so about the negative health effects mold can do to a body. Obviously if the "wet patches" dry up I will slap some plaster over it and re-paint it, but if not???

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
