getting rid of old furniture

ORIGINAL POST

We have a few things from our rented apartment which our landlady has told us we can get rid of -nothing is in particularly good condition so we don't think anyone would want them, even for free: can anyone advise on the best way to get rid of household items ? Is there a dump anywhere ? Would a charity be interested in recycling the items ? Seems such a waste, not to mention a hassle, to dump them. Any advice ?

you'd be surprised what people will take if it is FREE. I posted a sofa a couple of years back - offered it for free - for anyone who would take it and the calls kept coming. If dumping seems a hassle - just try posting it on the classifieds..you may be surprised at the response.
