If you have ever wondered why you see all these boy racers driving like idiots all the time this may explain it. In Jan I was hit head on by a racer in Sai Kung and both cars were written off, the back axle on my car was never found. The policeman knew the guy was racing, the man admitted it. My GF and I sustained terrible injuries, my spine has a few discs out of place and i'm in big trouble.

Just received a letter from the courts. The other driver got a $1500 fine and 5 penalty points.

My insurance middle-man (you need to emply one of these to recover any money whatsoever) said it will be another 6-12 months before we get the momey for my car let alone anything else - minus his fee of course.

Such a flippin joke.

On the basis of last week (358 people injured in traffic accidents in HK), there must be almost 20,000 people injured each year here. Is there a lobbying group of any sort working to encourage enforcement/ toughen penalties?

>simple simon. Don't worry the middleman is not charging anywhere near that kind of % and was referred by a neighbour, he's been good so far.

He told me yesterday that the fine was in line with the accident. He said that a few years back when the bus went over the edge of the Tuen Mun highway the driver got off with a $5000 fine and a few months in prison.

>green. The same thing happens in Sai Kung CWB; in the early hours it's hard to sleep with all the racing going on. I think it's the same as the dodgy DVD's, everone knows it goes on and where to go but the crack-downs are few and far between.
