For all its worth (if you believe the phone salespeople) I rang HK Ticketing and the Robbie Williams tickets are not for sale through them until 19th June. I further questioned them regarding what was in the SCMP and they said it was wrong.

General sales was this morning. How come A & B are sold out ? (even if I can understand some priority bookings !) This is not fair (especially we are not talking of a small venue !)

It will work out much cheaper for you if you do what I am doing - fly to Singapore to watch - got great seats for $80 SGD - still cheaper if you add the airfare on!!

I totally agree with gmbl. Where did all these A and B tickets go? Certainly not to all the CD buying fans. I recently went to a concert, the front few rows were full of local VIPs, Canto pop stars etc who just sat there.

I went to Simple Minds 2 months ago and did the general booking at 10AM the first day. I got the 1st row (I was surprised as I was expecting these ones for VIP or sponsor (normal). Yesterday, I was also at 10AM online for the booking. I am not a great fan and as a matter of fact I know few songs only but want to see the man on stage. I was not keen to pay $$$$ and got to the cheaper prices. But still how can VIP and Sponsor can book all A & B ?? Can you imagine if U2 or Madonna is coming in HK ? There will be no General Sales !! Normally, there is some priority for fan club / VIP / Sponsor but not 100% of the top seats.

To answer CF, yes indeed, I almost wanted to fly to Singapore to see Coldplay as I cannot attend their HK show ! Package for Sing in HK$ 1500 incl hotel so you can have 2 days relax + concert ! That is good !

I read in the paper that the venue only holds 7,000 people. Folks, this is TINY by RW and world standards. For example in NZ several years ago RW played 3 sold out concerts to 30,000+. I went to one of the concerts and it was great. I was in the most expensive seating area (a myth as we all stood up about 20m from the stage) and the tickets were about $180NZD from memory (approx $900HKD) even back then.

This is why the ticket prices are so high in HK, its the size of the venue and dare I say it even demand for the tickets (I doubt he could fill HK stadium for example). And also why the A and B's were reserved for sponsors, they subsidise it even further by paying for him to come here.

So stop all the complaining and celebrate the fact that there is at least one show this year that I consider worthwhile going to. Even if I could only get a "C" ticket.

I do agree with you Studio1 on the fact that we shuold be happy that he is coming here at all! And i also got my "C" ticket with much excitment but come on why shouldn't the normal person who buys his cd's listens to the radio and does all the things that make him a big star have the opportunity to buy these tickets. I think it is disgraceful, without his fans who is he???? It is not the sponsers and VIP's and pointless celebrities sitting in the front rows who have supported him so that he has got to this level. It is those who were then not giving a chance to sit any closer.; As a huge Robie fan for a long time i am very dissappointed and have never had this happen at any other concert.

Equally as grateful that RW is coming to HK but feel a little disapponted about the ticket situation. I would be happy to pay +2000 for tickets but I wasn't even given that choice within the first five minutes of sales.

If you had joined the 'Inner Sanctum' (fan club), you would have been able to buy A tickets a week early. Website opened at 5pm on the 12th and had no problem buying 4 tickets. Friends bought another 4.

So they have not all gone to sponsors, quite a few have gone to CD buying fans. Am excited to be going to a much smaller venue than I'd have been in had I gone to one of the UK concerts.

I joined the 'inner sanctum' also - an area in the Robbie website that I am sure most dedicated fans would have already joined and could buy tickets for ANY area a week in advance... I am sure if anyone was prepared to pay $880 or more to join this area and purchase 4 tickets in advance is no great extra cost.

The problem with "Inner Sanctum" is that you can only buy tickets using one transaction, too bad if you want to buy tickets for two concerts in two different countries. I had already purchased tickets in Australia (as a gift) and then couldn't use the website to puchase my own tickets in HK. I guess I didn't read the small print!
