Are people still buying the conventional CRT TVs? Are they not out of fashion and obsolete? The Flat panel (LCDs or Plasma) are really the latest and the prices are coming down rapidly.

How long do you think the CRT TVs will last? Are they worth buying anymore? Which are the best LCD or Plasma TVs? Any info is welcome?

This year I bought a 42inch plasma and a 21 inch CRT. I also still use a 14inch portable for some purposes.

Not every room in the house is big enough for 32 inch (min) screen. And lots of people do want a second TV. I paid 10500 RMB for the plasma, but only 700 rmb for the 21 inch CRT.

Because of manufacturing costs, the cost of producing small plasma/LCD is almaost the same as the larger sizes.

Until costs reduce dramatically, or every home only has only big rooms, there will be a healthy market for CRT.

IMHO, I think most homes will soom have big flat screen for the main telly. But smaller in other rooms.

Remember also that emerging markets, third world etc will use CRT for some time still (lots of people).
