I'm to be a bridesmaid in a wedding, so I'm looking for a tailor who will make something that will look nice. But it will most probably be worn once or twice, so it doesn't need to be the very highest quality. Any suggestions, preferably near Midlevels/Central area? And ideas of what it would cost approximately for a relatively simple floor-length gown with sleeves?

You can try Margaret Court tailors in Lan Kwai Fong - I had my bridesmaid dress made there. They work fairly quickly and the labour cost is reasonable. The total cost of the dress will largely depend on your choice of fabric. If the dress will only be worn once, you don't really need expensive fabric.
Give her a call and make an appointment - I'm sure she'll be happy to give you ideas and quotes.
